Hollywood Ballet Auditions
Hollywood Ballet auditions new dancers on an ongoing basis, individually and by arrangement, in
the Hollywood/ North Hollywood areas. Dancers interested in working with us should be very
strong in ballet and modern dance; experience in other dance forms is a plus. Dancers must be
friendly, cheerful, highly reliable, versatile team players, open to learning new movement styles and
passionate about performing. We are building a youth dance component to Hollywood Ballet, so
dancers ages 15 and up are encouraged to apply.
Our dances are often narrative, and inspired by scripture, mythology, and history- we seek to stage
dances which inspire and speak to the spirituality and humanity of our audiences. Interested dancers
should be willing to perform and help conduct dance workshops in a variety of settings, ranging
from schools to universities, faith-based as well as secular organizations. We want dedicated
teammates who are willing to commit for an extended period of time, in order to help build our new
dance company into a first class arts organization. Opportunities to contribute to our body of
choreography will be available.
Currently we are building our "brand," reputation and video portfolio by taking any acceptable
performance opportunities, regardless of remuneration (i.e. showcases, school performances, and
special events). Our goal is to eventually be able to pay dancers for all performances, except the
occasional benefit. We also plan to offer rehearsal pay as we grow and funding develops. Hollywood
Ballet is a member of the Pasadena Arts Council's EMERGE Fiscal Sponsorship Program. All donations
made to Hollywood Ballet through the Pasadena Arts Council will be 100% tax deductible and will go
toward paying our dancers, the creation of new works, and touring. We are Hollywood's only
namesake dance company, and as such are eliciting funding from the Hollywood entertainment
community as well as foundations and other grant-makers.
Performances are planned for showcases, schools and colleges, and ultimately, national and
international dance festivals.
Interested dancers should forward a dance resume, head shot, any dance photos showing elevation,
attitude or arabesque (solo dance pics only please!). Please also include links to any video clips of
your performance(s) posted on the web.
Please note! Interested dancers must already live within 20 miles of Hollywood/ North Hollywood.
Auditions and rehearsals are conducted primarily in the cities of Hollywood and North Hollywood.
Unfortunately we cannot respond to inquiries from dancers who are not already residents.
